Murph Mate ("the App") is a workout tracking application for the Murph challenge, developed and operated by Joshua McWilliams ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, where it is stored, and how it is used.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because the App is designed to work entirely on-device, we have made deliberate architectural choices that mean we never have access to your personal information.
We do not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
The App stores the following data locally on your device only,
using iOS's standard UserDefaults storage:
This data is stored in the App's private sandbox and is not accessible to other apps. It may be included in your device's iCloud or iTunes backup if you have those features enabled β this is a device-level setting outside our control.
Murph Mate may offer an option to save your completed workout to Apple Health (HealthKit). This feature is entirely opt-in and occurs only when you explicitly request it. We do not read health data from HealthKit, and any data written is governed by Apple's HealthKit privacy rules.
HealthKit data written by this App is not shared with advertisers or third-party services.
The App does not integrate any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash-reporting services, or social login providers. There are no trackers of any kind embedded in the App.
The App is distributed via the Apple App Store, which is subject to Apple's own Privacy Policy.
The App can generate a share card image summarizing your workout results. This image is rendered locally on your device and shared through iOS's standard Share Sheet only when you explicitly tap the share button. We do not transmit this image or its contents to any server.
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. Because the App collects no personal information at all, we believe it is appropriate for general audiences.
All data is stored solely on your device and under your control. You can delete your workout history at any time within the App. Uninstalling the App from your device will permanently remove all locally stored data. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete from our side.
Your workout data benefits from iOS's built-in data protection features, including device encryption when your device is locked. Since no data is transmitted to external servers, there is no server-side attack surface.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will update the App's App Store listing to alert users. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
